Civilians Killed As Insurgents Ambush Police In Kandahar

Insurgents attacked a police convoy in the Afghan southern province of Kandahar on Tuesday, killing at least eight civilians and one police officer, Reuters reports. Around 25 people were reportedly wounded.

There were several ambushes and at least five explosions during the attack, which took place on the outskirts of Kandahar city, said the provincial governor's spokesman.
