Iraqi officials said they have temporarily suspended civilian flights military activity in the northern Kurdish area of the country, reports Agence France-Presse.
All flights to and from the airports in Erbil and Sualimaniyah were suspended for 48 hours starting Monday, said Iraq's Civil Aviation Authority late on Sunday.
The move was made "protect passengers and because of the crossing of cruise missiles and bombers," said officials.
