The director of the Central Intelligence Agency hopes to expand the use of airborne drone strikes against terrorist targets in Yemen, reports the Washington Post.
Former Army Gen. David Petraeus is seeking the authority to launch "signature strikes," which set targets based solely on patterns of suspicious behavior, sources said.
In such cases, the identities of the targets usually are not known, a strategy reportedly followed by the CIA in Pakistan.
