Two years after buying Chinooks for the air force, the Canadian Dept. of National Defense wants to sell five used heavy-lift helicopters, reports the Canadian Press.
The military purchased six CH-47D Chinook helicopters from the U.S., in a US$283 million deal, for use in Afghanistan. One was lost in combat last August.
The plan was always to sell the aircraft once that mission was completed, said officials.
