Chinooks Seen Transporting Gear For THAAD Deployment

South Korea's military has been airlifting equipment needed to construct the site of an advanced missile defense system, reports UPI.

Last July, Washington and Seoul agreed to install a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system by the end of 2017. A land swap deal for the planned site, a golf course in Seongju county owned by the Lotte Group, went ahead in late February.

Components of the system began arriving in March, say officials.
