China's navy has joined U.S. and Japanese warships in the search for a U.S. sailor who was reported overboard earlier this week in the South China Sea, reports the Stars and Stripes.
The American was reported missing from the guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem on Tuesday during a joint exercise with Japan. The search was ongoing on Thursday, said a U.S. Navy spokesman.
One wire service said the missing sailor is a male lieutenant.
