With Chinese Activity On The Rise, Japanese Fighters Scrambled 1,168 Times In Fiscal 2016

Government statistics in Tokyo indicate the Japanese air force has continued to scramble fighter jets to intercept incoming aircraft at a record pace, reports the Kyodo news agency (Japan).

Japanese warplanes were deployed 1,168 times during fiscal year 2016, which ended on March 31, said the Defense Ministry on Thursday.
