China and Japan have agreed to back international sanctions against North Korea for sinking a South Korean naval vessel in March, say South Korean officials cited by the BBC.
China, South Korea and Japan met in a summit that ended Sunday.
Although Beijing has refrained from publicly condemning Pyongyang, South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan said China has been privately helpful.
