The Chinese government has downplayed India's test on Thursday of an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking throughout China, reports the Press Trust of India.
The Agni-V strategic missile successfully hit a target over 5,000 km (3,100 mi) away, said Indian defense officials.
The launch was delayed by a day due to bad weather.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry noted after the test that the two countries are not rivals and enjoy "sound" relations.
