Chile’s Special Forces Set to Receive New Naval Capability

Chile's ASMAR shipyard unveiled the PUMAR AR740 BT, a semi-rigid boat designed for insertion and extraction missions by the country's Special Forces. Showcased at the Innovapolinav event, the boat is characterized by its Hypalon/Neoprene inflatable tube, textured to reduce shine, and reinforced glass fiber hull. Manned by a skipper and assistant, the AR740 BT can transport eight Special Forces operators, equipped with Ullman Dynamics anti-shock seats for enhanced posture and protection during high-speed operations. Additionally, students from the Federico Santa María Technical University designed a NATO-type rail support system for machine guns, enhancing the boat's versatility for Special Forces missions.
