Children Reported Killed During NATO Airstrike

A local Afghan police official says NATO warplanes killed six Afghan children Thursday in an attack on Taliban militants in eastern Afghanistan, Agence France-Presse reports.
The children were collecting scrap metal close to a militant attack on a nearby NATO outpost, said the provincial police chief in Kunar province on Friday.
Bombs dropped to disperse the militants killed the children, he said.
