Chhetri To Become Army Chief In September

The third-in-command in Nepal's army has been promoted and will become the next army chief, reports Nepal's Kantipur newspaper.

Maj. Gen. Rajendra Chhetri was promoted to lieutenant general on Tuesday and will succeed Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Sumsher Rana.

Rana is retiring due to age and was on leave starting Monday. He will formally retire in September.
