The Pentagon has approved a number of new requirements for defense procurement, reports Defense News.
Changes include mandatory prototyping, stricter and more frequent program reviews and new development phases, which are designed to control costs and ensure that systems are delivered in a timely fashion.
The new policy also calls for improved testing and evaluation of platforms under development.
