Protection of the heavily fortified Green Zone in Iraq's capital is now an Iraqi job.
The U.S. Army's 336th Military Police Battalion turned over entry points in Baghdad's Green Zone to Iraqi security forces last week, wrapping up a seven-year mission, the Army Times reports.
Responsibility was handed over at a ceremony in front of As Salaam palace, which formerly belonged to Saddam Hussein.
While the MPs will no longer be in charge of security, they will still be available...
