General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Maine has laid the keel for another Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, reports the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command.
The keel for the future Thomas Hudner (DDG-116) was authenticated during a Monday ceremony at the shipyard.
The ship is the second of two destroyers under construction at Bath Iron Works. The first, Rafael Peralta (DDG-115), was launched on Nov. 1.
