Electoral authorities have officially declared the winner of the presidency in Peru more than a month after the runoff election, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
On Monday, Pedro Castillo was formally announced as the winner. He defeated right-wing rival Keiko Fujimori by 44,000 votes, according to figures published by the electoral authorities.
He is scheduled to be sworn in on July 28.
