The executive officer of the U.S. carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower has been relieved of duty pending the results of an ongoing investigation, reports the Navy Times.
Capt. Marcus Hitchcock, the Eisenhower's skipper, removed Capt. Robert Gamberg from duty on May 24, according to a spokesman from Naval Air Force Atlantic (AIRLANT).
The decision was not related to ship operations or safety or work performance, said the spokesman. No other details were released.
