Carrier Status Remains Unknown In Drills Near S. Korea

There has been no official confirmation of a U.S. aircraft carrier in the upcoming third round of joint naval training exercises off South Korea, the Navy Times reports.

The Invincible Spirit drills were designed to show the strength of the U.S.-South Korea alliance following the March sinking of a South Korean warship.

The third round, set for late October, was delayed due to "scheduling issues," said Army Gen. Walter "Skip" Sharp, commander of U.S. Forces-Korea.
