Carrier-Borne Su-33 Flanker-D Begins Trials

The Russian Sukhoi aircraft company says it has started ground and flight trials for its Su-33 Flanker-D naval fighter, RIA Novosti reports.
The fourth-generation Flanker-D is based on the Su-27K Flanker carrier-based fighter, which was first produced in the 1980s.
Modernization work and trials are taking place in the Russian Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, according to a company statement.
