The aircraft carrier Carl Vinson is scheduled to leave San Diego on Tuesday for a final training exercise and the beginning of a seven-month scheduled deployment to the western Pacific and Persian Gulf, the Navy Times reports.
The carrier will be accompanied by the cruiser Bunker Hill and the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers Stockdale and Gridley, as well as Carrier Air Wing 17, said Third Fleet officials.
