Cargo Aircraft Prototype Finally Gets Off The Ground

Kawasaki Heavy Industries has belatedly conducted the first test flight of its prototype cargo aircraft for the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force, reports the Kyodo News Agency.
The XC2 aircraft was originally scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2007, but the flight was postponed due to structural integrity issues.
The cargo plane also shares many components with a concurrent program to develop a new maritime patrol aircraft, dubbed P-X, for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense...
