CARAT Drills With Southeast Asian Allies Could Become More Complex

The U.S. Navy is considering how to improve and enhance its Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) military exercises with various Southeast Asian countries, reports the Stars and Stripes.

The training is expected to become more complex through the addition of unmanned vehicles and other high-tech weapons, more gunnery and training to intercept smugglers, said a spokesman for the 7th Fleet's Task Force 73 in Singapore.
