Canadian troops have concluded their last major combat mission in Afghanistan, reports the Globe and Mail (Toronto).
The two-week sweep through a rural area of the southern Kandahar province was conducted with an Afghan National Army brigade in the lead.
According to a battalion commander, the final mission sought insurgents in the Panjwai district and tested battlefield leadership capability of the Afghan brigade. The operation was planned and executed by Afghan officers. ...
