Campaign Workers Said To Be Killed By NATO Airstrike

Eight political campaign workers were killed and a parliamentary candidate was injured Thursday by a an airstrike in northern Afghanistan, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reports.

A local government official charged that NATO helicopters opened fire on Abdul Wahid Khurasani and his supporters in Takhar province's Rastaq district.

Two other workers were reported injured, and the governor has dispatched investigators to the scene, said a provincial spokesman.
