C-130Js, Gear, Support Sought From U.S.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has announced to the U.S. Congress a possible Foreign Military Sale to Norway for C-130J-30 airlifters.

The potential US$300 million order includes two aircraft, eight Rolls Royce AE2100D3 engines, one spare engine, countermeasure systems and other support, said the agency announcement on Thursday.

Norway intends to use these aircraft in support of NATO missions in Afghanistan, noted the DSCA.
