Budget Cuts Threaten Air Defense, TOW 2 Missile Systems

Internal documents show that the Canadian military is considering reductions in air defense and anti-tank systems as well as infrastructure and training, reports the Ottawa Citizen.
Under plans intended to cut the budget, the army would eliminate its Air Defense Anti-Tank System (ADATS) and TOW 2 anti-tank missile systems, according to documents leaked to the newspaper. The TOW 2 systems were ordered three years ago under a US$100 million contract.
