British Mechanized Unit Assumes Command Of Task Force Helmand

The 12 Mechanized Brigade in the British army has taken command of Task Force Helmand in Afghanistan, reports the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
The unit officially replaced 20 Armored Brigade in a ceremony on Tuesday in Lashkar Gah in southern Afghanistan. The mechanized brigade will lead the mission for six months.
Last October, 20 Armored Brigade took over the mission lead.
