Bomb Targets Opposition Activist

The Colombo home of a key Sri Lankan opposition activist was hit in a Friday bomb blast, Bloomberg News reports.
Police said that Tiran Alles, a supporter of former army chief Sarath Fonseka, and his family escaped injury from the blast. A car was said to have been destroyed.
Fonseka led the Sri Lankan military to victory in a 26-year civil war with the Tamil Tigers. He is challenging incumbent Mahinda Rajapaksa in the Jan. 26 presidential vote.
