Bomb Goes Off Near Prison In Athens

A powerful bomb exploded outside a high-security prison in an Athens suburb on Thursday, RTT News reports.

The explosion damaged the maximum security prison, located west of the capital in Korydallos, said security officials. A woman passing by was reported to be injured.

There were unconfirmed reports that the bomb had been placed in a garbage container close to the prison wall.

A warning call was placed to a television station ahead of the blast, according to Greek media....
