Boeing's Flight Tests Of Mk 84 Laser JDAM Called Successful

Boeing says that it has successfully conducted initial flight tests for its Mk 84 Laser Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

The tests, held in July and just revealed, demonstrated the weapon's precision strike capability against fixed, relocatable and moving targets.

During the trial, two inert 2,000-pound (900-kg) Mk 84 Laser JDAMs were released from an F-16 test aircraft at an altitude of 30,000 feet (9,100 m) and a speed of Mach 0.95, said...
