On June 10, 2026, Boeing announced that Diehl Defense, Rohde & Schwarz, and Rheinmetall joined its MQ-28 Ghost Bat team. The partnership will combine Australian and German expertise to support development, delivery, and long-term support of the platform, with a goal of fielding the aircraft by 2029.

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a Collaborative Combat Aircraft designed to operate autonomously while supporting manned aircraft during missions. Rheinmetall will oversee the integration of German technologies into the platform, while Diehl Defense will focus on weapons integration, software support, and training. Rohde & Schwarz will contribute mission systems and secure communications technologies.
