Boeing Receives US$75 Million U.S. Air Force Contract for JDAM LR Production

On Aug. 5, 2026, the U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a US$75 million contract to acquire the Joint Direct Attack Munition Long Range (JDAM LR), an extended-range precision-guided weapon.

The JDAM LR is designed to carry a 500-lb payload while reaching targets more than 300 nm away. Boeing also reported that the system successfully completed its first flight test in California, where it demonstrated military-code GPS capability and maintained accurate guidance throughout the flight.
