Boeing, Lockheed Awarded Contracts For Unmanned Cargo Systems

The Navy has awarded a pair of contracts to Boeing and Lockheed Martin, respectively, to supply cargo unmanned aerial vehicle services to the Marine Corps in Afghanistan, reports the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command.
The contracts, valued at $29.9 million for Boeing and $45.8 million for Lockheed, cover the development of two air vehicles, three remote ground control stations and quick reaction assessment. The systems will be government-owned and contractor-operated.
