Blast At Delta Oil Pipeline; Explosion Followed Demands By Locals

A pipeline in the Niger Delta region has come under attack by militants, say Nigerian military and oil officials, as cited by Reuters.

Troops on a routine patrol reported an explosion at the Batan Flow Station around Ekweregbene, the military said on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp., which owns the pipeline, confirmed that the attack and said that production was affected.
