Russia's State Duma, the lower legislative body, has amended the law governing the use of military forces abroad, reports Interfax-AVN.
The measure authorizes the military to be used beyond the national borders if necessary to repel an attack on Russian forces; to repel or prevent an attack on another state seeking help; to defend Russian citizens abroad from attack; and to combat maritime piracy and ensure safe navigation.
