'Big Red One' Now In Control In East

The U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division has taken command of military operations in eastern Afghanistan, reports the Army News Service.

The division assumed command of Regional Command-East last week from the 1st Cavalry Division, which has wrapped up a year-long tour.

A ceremony was held at Bagram Airfield.
