U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has indicated that the United States and Turkey have prepared a military solution against the Islamic State if the Syrian government and rebels are unable to reach a political settlement.

The Obama administration is seeking to reduce tensions between Iraq and Turkey by finding common ground to fight the Islamic State, reports the Wall Street Journal.
