President Joe Biden plans to bring back the former head of the Counter-ISIS task force who was fired by his predecessor in November, reports Politico (Washington, D.C.).
Christopher Maier is expected to serve as acting principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict. The Biden administration plans to formally nominate him for the post.
