The German Federal Security Council has approved the export of a MEKO A200 frigate to the Egyptian navy, reports Der Spiegel (Germany).
The potential US$572 million (500 million euro) deal also includes an option to purchase an additional vessel, according to official documents reviewed by the magazine.
Egypt signed a US$2.3 billion (2 billion euro) contract with ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems in September for four MEKO A200s, with one to be built in Egypt, La Tribune (France)...
