Belgrade Drops Challenge At U.N. Over Kosovo

The Serbian government says it has given up its challenge to the United Nations regarding Kosovo's independence, the Guardian (U.K.) reports.
President Boris Tadic announced the decision Wednesday night, insisting the move did not mean Serbia recognized Kosovo's sovereignty.
The action may clear the way for settlement talks between Belgrade and the Kosovo leadership.
