Belgian, French Instructors Assist Peacekeepers

Uganda
Belgian and French army instructors are training Ugandan troops for service with the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia (AMISOM), reports the New Vision (Kampala).
Around 1,600 Ugandan soldiers are being trained in convoy escort, mine sweeping, explosives detection, cordon-and-search operations, checkpoint monitoring and self-defense.
There are 35 French and two Belgian instructors running the five-week course, officials said.
