Beijing Signals Interest In Restoring Military Ties With U.S.

The U.S. government says that Chinese officials have indicated a readiness to resume military-to-military relations, reports the Stars and Stripes.
Such relations could be normalized by the end of the year, a Pentagon spokesman said last week. Defense Secretary Robert Gates reportedly hopes to visit China by the end of the year.
China rescinded an invitation for a Gates visit in June as a protest for a US$6 billion arms sale to Taiwan that was announced in February. ...
