The Chinese government has announced it will implement additional sanctions on North Korea in line with U.N. resolutions, reports the South China Morning Post.
The measures, announced Monday by the Ministry of Commerce, extend an import ban to iron, iron ore, seafood and coal. The sanctions took effect on Tuesday.
The restrictions are open-ended and will stay in place as long as Pyongyang continues with its nuclear and missile programs, officials said.
