The Chinese government is preparing options to replace Hong Kong premier Carrie Lam, reports the Financial Times (London).
Sources told the newspaper that if President Xi Jinping approves the measure, Lam's successor would be installed by March and serve the remainder of her term, which ends in 2022.
The successor would not necessarily serve a full term afterwards, the sources said.
