Beijing Blasts FONOP Near Paracel Islands

The U.S. Navy recently conducted another freedom of navigation operation (FONOP) in the South China Sea, reports USNI News.
On Thursday, the destroyer USS Mustin sailed near the Paracel Islands, which are claimed by China, Taiwan and Vietnam.
The operation " upheld the rights, freedoms, and lawful uses of the sea recognized in international law by challenging the restrictions on innocent passage imposed by China, Taiwan, and Vietnam," said a Navy spokeswoman.
