Base Deal With U.S. Ruled Unconstitutional

The Colombian constitutional court has ruled unconstitutional a 2009 agreement providing the U.S. military with access to seven Colombian bases, reports London's Daily Telegraph.
The accord authorized the U.S. to utilize the bases for counter-drug and anti-terrorism operations.
The court said the accord should be redrafted as an international treaty and sent to Colombia's Congress for approval, noted the BBC.
There was not a ruling on the legitimacy of the agreement itself...
