BAE Pulls Hawk From Trainer Competition

British defense firm BAE Systems has withdrawn from Poland's 1.45 billion zloty (US$533 million) competition for 16 lead-in fighter trainer jets, Defense News reports, citing Polish media.
The company dropped out because its Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer does not feature a digital fly-by-wire control system and a radio location system as required by Poland, a spokesman said.
Korea Aerospace Industries, with the T-50 Golden Eagle, is widely seen as the favorite.
