AW101 Chopper Outfitted For Airborne Surveillance

AgustaWestland and Thales have just taken the wraps off an enhanced airborne surveillance and control (ASAC) variant of the AW101 helicopter, reports AgustaWestland.
The helicopter is expected to replace the Sea King Mk 7 and features the latter's Cerberus mission system and Searchwater 2000 radar, said officials.
The Sea King is scheduled to be retired in 2016.
The AW101 is fitted with a palletized Searchwater 2000 radar for the ASAC mission.
