Avibras Eyes New ASTROS MLRS To Meet Demand For Rocket Artillery

Brazilian defense firm Avibras is considering building a prototype of its new Artillery Saturation Rocket System (ASTROS) III. The ASTROS III AV-LMU unit, based on a Tatra T-815-7T3B41 8 x 8 high-mobility, heavy-duty chassis is an improvement of the ASTROS II Mk 6 procured by Brazil and Indonesia, offering increased firepower. Development was motivated by the demand for rocket artillery based on lessons learned from the war in Ukraine.
