Australian Defense Minister Christopher Pyne visited Beijing this week to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Wei Fenghe, reports the South China Morning Post.
A developed, healthy, stable and sustainable relationship would benefit both countries and the region as a whole, according to a statement released by the Chinese Defense Ministry.
Pyne expressed a willingness to work towards such cooperation, according to the statement.
